Faculty-facing resources regarding textbooks and digital assets.
Textbook Change Request
If the assigned textbook in SOAR is the out of date or out of print edition, the Course Lead or Academic Program Director may submit a Textbook Change Request eForm at least 8 weeks prior to the next course offering.
Custom Integration Agreement
If a third-party integration is being requested, a Custom Integration Agreement eForm will need to be submitted by the Course Lead or Academic Program Director. This process could take a minimum of four (4) months to complete.
VitalSource Educator allows free eBook access for faculty. Instructors can create an account with VitalSource to get an online copy of the book if it is available. It could take a few days to get your account approved since the publisher will need to verify instructor credentials.
DART eBook Program
The Day One Access to Resources and Text (DART) program is offered in selected National University courses, where students have immediate access to an embedded electronic textbook (eBook) for optional purchase. If students have questions regarding DART, please refer them to the DART Support Page or to Student Concierge Services at SCS@nu.edu. Instructors will have access to the DART eBook, if it is embedded in their course, at least one week prior to the start of the course.
Faculty Textbooks Department
The Faculty Textbooks department supports requests from processing faculty desk copies and embedding e-books into online courses, to textbook management within SOAR and assisting with third-party integrations.
